Founder's Journey.

Suzanne Soto-Davies.jpg

HEY THERE!

My journey began when I got sick and tired of washing my hair daily and having less than pleasant results.  My hair was always dry, frizzy, stringy and fragile, regardless of which "natural" shampoos I used. How frustrating!

I hated having to spend money on crappy products, only to have the same horrible results as before. Plus, being the eco-warrior that i am, the toxic ingredients were a big turn-off.
I aimlessly searched for more natural alternatives, with no luck.

As a passionate (and stubborn) Latina, I enrolled in my first course at Formula Botanica determined to learn all I could about hair. Now, as a Certified Haircare and Skincare Formulator, I can proudly share the products I have developed – they are efficient, eco-friendly, and something I am so proud to have others try!

Our bodies are worth it, and so is our planet.

I'm determined to continue developing hair products that embrace nature, so stick around!

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Suzanne and Dr David Suzuki
TRUU raising monarchs

In my previous professional life, I was the owner and publisher of a magazine, and through this work, I met Canadian Scientist and Environmentalist, Dr. David Suzuki. We share many of the same views, so it was an exciting honour to interview him. The answer to one of my questions stayed with me, and it inspires me daily:
"Nature teaches us that even the smallest changes we make can make a difference." We all need to do our part, and I feel that if I can help inspire someone to do more for nature's protection, then it's all worthwhile.

I have always been very in tune with Indigenous Peoples here in Canada, as I was with them in my native country (Peru). I respect their culture and history, what they teach us, and how they view Mother Nature as a guide and protector of our Earth.

I consider myself an "eco-warrior" and find inspiration in the nature that surrounds me. I advocate for "Water First" for Indigenous communities, I protect bees and raise butterflies, I plant food, I care for what goes into our body and onto our skin, and what gets flushed down the drain. It's a full circle, and this passion guides every one of my product designs.
